This walk covers the flatlands along the Tiber river in the Spanish Steps/Piazza del Popolo area, which is rich with monuments and buildings from antiquity to the present. Strolling through one of the most elegant neighborhoods of Rome, we'll sift through the remains of imperial tombs and obelisks, medieval churches and their legends, Renaissance palaces and princes, and modern efforts at urban renewal. Our walk takes us through the back-streets of a vibrant artist neighborhood and leaves us in one of the city's most dramatic squares.

This is an orientation walk and therefore is not intended to be as intensive and in-depth as our smaller-group itineraries. The idea is to give you a general overview of the city and prepare you for further investigation, either on your own or with us.
