It is strategically located in the Medieval and Renaissance heart of Florence, on the left bank of Arno river, is close to principal museums, churches and shopping areas. Each of our well-furnished rooms has air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar, direct-dial telephone and safe. Entering the building you cross a typical Florentine style courtyard which, before the construction of the "Lungarni" (streets that run along the river), gave directly onto the banks of the Arno. The hotel is situated in medieval Florence's quarter San Niccolò with views of the river and the Demidoff Garden which was built in memory of the Russian philanthropist who loved Florence and lived in the nearby Serristori palace.During World War II the palace became a headquarters for Allied troops, and at the end of the war it was left to the order of nuns called the Sisters of the Madonna della Consolata who remained there until the hotel was opened in 1964.
